Today the Supreme Court handed down it's long awaited decision in
Citizens United v. Federal Elections Commission, eliminating restrictions on corporate donations to politicians dealing a huge blow to McCain-Feingold (hence the title of this post).
If the negotiations over healthcare have taught us anything, it's that corporations do not have enough of a voice in the political process. This is truly our generation's Brown v. Board of Education.
How's about betraying democracy in the name of a democratic principle ("free speech")? Because we all know corporate interests have been silenced. Makes me wonder, Chris. Makes me wonder.
